Miami went medieval on that ass as we opened our headquarters for Basel Castle 2010!
After a week of preparations within the Castle itself, every stone block and rampart of the downtown lair was ready for one of the most talked about events of Art Basel week Miami 2010. After 3500 RSVPs, the list website simply shut down even as hundreds of art and music fans continued to want to join the party. As the line went around the block, the Castle gates swung open to reveal a carnival tent featuring skeeball by Tara McPherson, a wheel of chance by Ron English, darts by Mike Giant, and giant puzzle by Marc Bode. ABV had a pop up gallery featuring art from their Overseas and Undertones show as they did live art on the walls of the gallery. The Overthrow headquarters was turned into an exclusive VIP room where Han Cholo presented a freakshow inspired display of their retro inspired jewelry, Jose Cuervo Platino kept the tequila flowing, and there was plenty of cold Pabst Blue Ribbon and spicey Prometheus Springs for all.
Outside, the torches flared and the lights spun as DJs Troy Kurtz, Pirate Stereo, Tamara Sky and Damaged Goods hyped the crowd and Brooklyn rock band Sweathearts and Miami pop crooner JESP rocked live performances. Things started getting really packed as the castle erupted when Rye Rye took the stage with 3 dancers doing hyperspeed choreographed dance moves. When Theophilus London took the stage and laced the crowd with his electro soul songs, one of a kind dance moves, and personal drum kit, the walls nearly crumbled. The night closed out with Blaqstarr live and a special guest DJ set by LA Riots. In the end, an incredible night of art, games, prizes, musketeers, music, dancing, and partying left just the right impression for everyone who attended the Basel Castle.
As a creative collective, Overthrow dives into Basel Miami Beach Week like a stripper at a mud-wrestling match who dropped her keys. See below for the full line up of events we are involved in or officially endorsing and join us.

Saturday October 30th
The island of Puerto Rico is a magical place. A place where ancient Indian spirits and voodoo practices intertwine to create an epicenter of supernatural power. A power that can be harnessed for rituals of mythical proportion!
Saturday, October 23rd, the infamous party-cultists of Overthrow will channel this mystic energy through their debaucherous brand as they come to San Juan to launch their new monthly residence at The Vatican!
Leading the ceremony as The Vatican’s new resident will be the Boricua bred, world famous DJ Tamara Sky! With the mystical blood of the island running through her veins, the self proclaimed vampire robot with amazing ninja powers who is also a zombie with a superhero alter ego.. has traveled the universe sharing the carnal Puerto Rican spirit everywhere she plays. Now she returns from the Planet of Terror to bring her native island the gift of bass-heavy Pussy Violence!
But she’s not coming alone.. The brujera of the turntables is bringing Overthrow warriors TKO along with her! Comprised of the two biggest electronic DJs in Miami (Damaged Goods and Troy Kurtz), this pair has played alongside the likes of Steve Angello, Laidback Luke, Bassnectar, Rusko and more.
Also, performing the opening ceremony, San Juan native producer & dj The Romans.
October 23rd, We Overthrow the Vatican! El Diablo would be proud…
