Anti up, party monsters.. time to channel your inner goon for SLOPTOBURRRRR!
We’re pleased to introduce Spain’s reigning 3x DMC Champ DJ SOAK, on his first ever US Tour! And just to tip the weirdo scale, we’re bringing back OT’s not-so-secret weapon DAMAGED GOODS! Also… in homage of Overthrow’s favorite time of year (aside from WMC), this Sloppy ritual is going ALL BLACK EVERYTHING. So gear up in your favorite shade of darkness, and we’ll see you at the witching hour.
Our southern bass god, Heroes & Villains aka DJ Megan Foxxx, is managing his time like a champion. Recently crowned Atlanta’s Best DJ, when he’s not making it rain white girls at his monthly, HAUTE MESS, he’s bridging the gap between your ipod and the Trap one remix at a time. His latest release targets 1017 Brick Squad affiliate Waka Flockawith a remix of “Oh Lets Do It,” simulating the precise mood of robbing a bank under the influence… and waking up the next morning wondering “Were the f*ck did all this money come from?!”
In case you missed out, and we sure as Hell hope you didn’t, we just had both Annie Mac and Ninjasonik tear Miami two entirely new assholes, respectively.
First up, Annie Mac, queen bee of the BBC, took the Electric Pickle on a whirlwind tour of the latest and greatest in bumps, womps, and wobbles. The straight-up madness of it all was lovingly documented by our friends over at Miami Mayhem, and you can click here or on the above photo for the full gallery.
And finally at our monthly Overthrow X Poplife Spectacular, Ninjasonik, New York’s favorite beatsmiths (beastsmiths?) ROCKED Grand Central to its knees. Ramps were skated, faces were melted, and we have serious reason to believe somebody went and got pregnant. Go get yourselves tested, and while you’re waiting, check out the gallery HERE or by clicking on the photo.
The island of Puerto Rico is a magical place. A place where ancient Indian spirits and voodoo practices intertwine to create an epicenter of supernatural power. A power that can be harnessed for gatherings of mythical proportion!
Saturday, October 23rd, Overthrow will channel this mystic energy as we journey to San Juan to launch our new monthly ritual at The Vatican!
Ninjasonik is not just the elaborate, tongue-in-cheek, metallectual, authentic progeny of the Brooklyn creative renaissance, its a way of life!
Overthrow and Poplife, in association with Van’s present the one and only NINJASONIK, live!, Saturday September 25th at Grand Central in downtown for a show that brings together all the ingredients for a raucous, vintage indie dance party:
First, art/rap/punk/electromashers Ninjasonik will be coming down from the BK to perform LIVE. Add a ramp and some skaters courtesy of MIA Skateshop, a pinch of I Am Your Villains throwback good vibery, and a crate full of Van’s giveaways, and youve got yourself a venue full of gourmet-worthy hipster stew that goes down fashionably smooth with a hint of irony and a rich aftertaste of ecstatic partying. Que sobroso!
All of this will be in addition to Overthrow’s Damaged Goods and Troy Kurtz and residents Jessica Who and Mike Deuce.
Not enough for you? Then RSVP to events@theoverthrow.com for reduced admission and end the summer with a reverse ollie over a six pack of beers and earful of party tunes.
YES Annie Mac is coming to Miami and NO you don’t have to wait until March for WMC!
One of the most influential and progressive DJs on the radio, bringing the future of music first and breaking new tunes and artists before everyone’s other favorite DJs start rocking dancefloors with them around the world.
Be there at the Electric Pickle when she drops what is sure to be a mix full of exclusive remixes and unreleased tracks from the BIGGEST producers in the game.
Also, making his Miami debut is the remix master GIGAMESH, one of the most popular producers on the internet.
And to round out what is essentially EVERY BIG DJ IN MIAMI, catch TKO (Damaged Goods + Troy Kurtz), Pirate Stereo, and a special late night set by the jetsetting playboy Danny Daze.
Bassnectar is truly a pioneer when it comes to the frontier of electro dub and bass music. Its like he was one of the first guys digging in San Fransico before the gold rush and damn did he find a precious thread!
By popular demand, the queen of Pussy Violence, Tamara Sky, is shedding another musical chapter of her airplane chronicles. The Jet Lag mix series is like surfing a chillwave rollercoaster floating in Miss Sky’s dreams, and this episode features tunes from Phoenix, Aeroplane, Classixx, Mike Snow, Holy Ghost!, Miami Horror, The Twelves, along with cameos from a few compadres like Roxy Cottontail, Drop The Lime, and Señor Stereo.
